Moving House & Homeware Haul

Here's a little peek into our new home!

I have to admit ever since we started house searching just before Christmas I became homeware obsessed. I've always been interested in interior design and creating a space that feels very personal, functional and also fun. Pops of bright colour was a must have for me, and luckily Adam agreed to let me style everything (he's a keeper!)

I started by spending hours on Pinterest. It truly is a black hole of pictures, but great for inspiration as long as you know that the houses on there are absolutely massive! Since we only had a small space to work with and as we are renting couldn't change anything. We were lucky finding this place as its been newly decorated all white, so it was the perfect blank canvas.

Moving Out!

I've always been a very homey person and I knew that when I eventually moved I wanted it to feel right and not something scary or have me end up feeling homesick. We had talked for a long time about buying a house and even looked into how much we could have for a mortgage, but the deposit was something that would take us years to save up for. Renting seemed the best way to move our relationship and our lives forward for the time being.

I never had any doubts or apprehension about our decision and I always trust my gut instinct. After being a Right Move addict for a few weeks we stumbled across our place and at first viewing knew it was the one. It took weeks to go through the process before we got to move in. All the checks needed took a long time as being self employed wasn't the easiest and was probably the most stressful part.

Our actual moving date fell on my 25th Birthday and to be honest it was such a blur as we were carrying boxes and cleaning all day. We were so lucky to have our families help out and would have been lost without them. We managed to set everything necessary up in about a week and I then started running errands and organising like a crazy woman whilst Adam was back at work.

Most of the pieces here we've purchased over the past month but some of them were from our old rooms. We were also given quite a lot from family and friends which was so lovely and helpful to get us started. Where everything came from is written below!
